Douglas J. Mason, Psy. D.

Dr. Douglas J. Mason is a Licensed Psychologist and practicing Neuropsychologist who currently works in private practice in Leesburg, Florida.  He completed his neuropsychology residency at Duke University Medical Center with a specialty in Alzheimer’s disease.  Internship studies were fulfilled in Tennessee through the Memphis VA and the University of Tennessee. As a student, he received the Graduate Research Award at the 45th Annual Southeastern Psychological Association and has presented his research on memory at the International Neuropsychological Society.

Dr. Mason is the author of “The Memory Workbook,”  “The Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Workbook,”  “The Memory Doctor,” and "Brain Boot Camp."  He served on the Acute Care Committee for the state of Florida’s Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program. He has spoken extensively on cognitive rehabilitation and memory improvement and has appeared within numerous media formats including ABC World News Now and National Public Radio.

Dr. Mason served the United States Army first as a Private and much later as a Major, serving as  Assistant Chief in the Outpatient Mental Health Unit of the US Army in Ft. Gordon, GA.  He was deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as part of a Combat Stress unit providing clinical services to Cuban and Haitian population.
